Options

Our GeoVision DVR Systems can be built in a standard Tower case, or in a 4U Rack-Mountable server case.  All GeoVision DVR's have options available for upgrading the Processor, RAM, Hard Drive space, Operating System, and Optical Drive.

We also offer the option of adding a separate hard drive dedicated for the operating system and GeoVision software.  You can choose from a 250GB Serial ATA drive, or a 40GB or 80GB Solid State Drive.  Solid State drives offer better performance, lower power consumption, and longer hard drive life.  However, they are currently too expensive to substitute as video storage drives.  If you choose not to use a separate O/S hard drive, we will partition 30GB from the video storage drive for the O/S and software.

Warranty / Tech Support

All Systems We Sell Come With A One Year Warranty, And Life Time Tech Support.

DVR Features

PTZ Camera Support: Various models of PTZ cameras can be controlled through the software, both locally and remotely, using the GV-PT/NET add-on adapter

Object Counting: This feature allows you to count the number of objects passing through a pre-defined area by object size, direction of movement or detection area. Counted results are stored in the system log for future reference.

Day-Night Recording Mode: This recording mode allows the use of different recording modes for the same area for up to 4 different time periods within a day. Recording may be set to either “motion detect” or “round-the-clock”.

New Record Log Search Methods: Object Search: Allows you to specify an area within the field of view of a camera and perform a search for any motion that has occurred within that zone. Thumbnail Search: One video event is presented frame by frame in the viewer in order to easily determine the start of some action within that whole event log. Index Search: Search based on certain criteria – eg “motion detection” or “alarm generated”.

System Log: The System Log is a database of major operational changes. It allows searching by “Motion and Alarm Events”, “General System Events”, “User Login/Logout history”, “Counter Results” (from Object Counting) and “POS Results”. Events can be double clicked to play the associated video.

Central Surveillance by Center V2: Center V2 allows up to 20 GV DVRs to be remotely monitored. Each Center V2 remote system can display up to 320 channels of live video can be displayed in pages of 24 channels per page. Up to 500 Center V2 systems can be served by one Dispatch Server, so that Center V2 will support a video Central Monitoring Station.

Point-of-Sale (POS) Integration: Third-party electronic POS systems may now be integrated into GV series DVRs via the GV-Data Capture device - an external device that transmits POS transaction data to the DVR. Transaction data is superimposed on the video of the selected camera. Video recordings can be searched based on POS transaction events or keywords.

New Webcam Multi-function Remote: More useful functions for management of multiple servers (DVRs) is provided through a web-interfaced Webcam application.

Dynamic DNS Support: A new Dynamic DNS service is offered by GeoVision to all V6.0 users. This service provides an easy-to-remember domain to fast locate your DVR with a changed dynamic IP address, by constantly updating the IP address of your DVR to the DNS server. Domain name registration is done in the new DDNS application.

Video Compression: A choice of Geo MPEG4, MPEG4 or Wavelet compression for local recording is selectable by camera (Geo MPEG4 gives about 4 times the compression of Wavelet).

Video Resolution: Camera images can be displayed and recorded in a choice of 720x480, 720x240, 640x480, 640x240 or 320x240 pixels. All cameras images must run at the same resolution although this can be changed at any time.

Individual Camera Adjustment: Brightness, contrast, hue and saturation are all adjustable for each individual camera.

Multiple Display Options: Live video can be displayed in single camera or various multi-camera modes. Multi-camera display can be immediately switched to single camera by one mouse click on the desired camera image (and back again by mouse click).

Live Display and Recording: Concurrent recording of live video and playback of recorded video is supported.

Recording Choices: Recording is selectable by camera as continuous or "on motion". Motion detection is performed by the software and sensitivity can be set. A schedule of recording can be set by camera, by time and date.

Mask Function: Areas for "motion ignore" can be masked per camera image. Multiple mask areas per image are allowed.

Recording Playback: The log files of recorded video clips can be sorted and accessed by year/date/time. Video recordings can be played back while current recording is taking place, although recording speeds may slow down. Recordings can be zoomed in/out and moved around the viewing area, on playback. Recordings can be played back at normal speeds, higher speeds, slower speeds or frame by frame. Recordings can be played back by individual camera or all security cameras at a time. Switching from multi-camera to single-camera playback is as simple as clicking on a particular camera window while playback is operational. Additional editing features are provided for single frame image sharpening, exporting, adjusting brightness/contrast and printing. Video clips can be exported as .avi files, playable in Microsoft™ Media Player or similar. Individual frames can be exported in many file formats, including .jpg's. Exported video clips can have the date, time and camera name stamped on the video in a choice of colors.

Smart Recording: "Smart Recording" can be selected, by camera to maximize recording speed. Smart recording shares the full recording speed only between those security cameras actually recording at any one time.

Digital Watermarking: Digital watermarking can be selected, to prove integrity of recorded videos. This is particularly useful if recordings are to be used as evidence in court.

Alarm and Email functions: The software can be set to dial out to a remote telephone/cell/pager number on alarm (motion detected) or to send an email with snapshot. Alarm signal inputs and outputs for up to 16 devices can be connected using the GV-I/O adapter.

Audio Recording: One channel of audio can be recorded with any GV-600 series DVR and up to four channels can be recorded with any GV-800 series DVR. Recorded audio can be played back channel by channel, in synch with a single camera video playback.

Video Exporting: Video clips can be exported in .avi format, with time and date stamp and played in Windows media player. Single frames can be enhanced for brightness, contrast and sharpness and exported in various graphic formats, or printed directly from the GV software.

Communications: Remote communication is supported by dial-up server, web-cam server, TCP/IP server and multicast server. All can be turned on or off with just one mouse click. Compression of transmitted images can be set from remote systems as MPEG4 or JPEG, independent of recording compression of the host system. MPEG4 will provide much faster transmission. New Webcam software allows up to 16 cameras to be viewed on one screen from the same or multiple DVRs. Remote communications with Windows™ CE equipped PDAs are now supported with the GV software.

Remote System Monitoring: By using the Geocenter communications feature, the video from recording cameras can be sent to a remote system for display and/or recording. The remote system is designated the Geocenter system. Up to 10 DVRs and up to 80 cameras can be monitored by one Geocenter, concurrently.

Remote System Recording/Accessing: Remote security systems can record locally with Internet or client software and host recordings can be accessed remotely by the client software.
